The Eagles brought The Long Goodbye residency to The Sphere Las Vegas for a 64-show run spanning 32 weekends. The residency is now in its final stretch, with only 6 shows remaining. One weekend in September (September 18-19), and two weekends in November (November 13-14 and November 27-28) — then the curtain comes down on November 28, 2026.
The show at The Sphere was built specifically for the venue. Part one covers a set of Eagles classics from across their career. Part two is the full Hotel California album performed from start to finish, with The Sphere's 160,000 square-foot LED display serving as a fully immersive backdrop.
Don Henley said it plainly in a February 8, 2026 CBS Sunday Morning interview: "I think this year will probably be it." The band followed with a statement: "Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle."
The Eagles were also the first rock act to headline a residency at The Sphere. When November 28 arrives, there are no more shows planned.

The current lineup has been performing together since 2017.
The Eagles performing in 2026 are Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey, with Timothy B. Schmit on bass and vocals. They are a band that has carried its legacy forward through a period of real loss, and they are doing it right.
Glenn Frey, co-founder of the Eagles, passed away in January 2016. The band nearly stopped entirely. Instead, they brought in Vince Gill as a guitarist and vocalist, and Glenn's son Deacon Frey to carry his father's parts. Deacon has been performing with the band since 2017.
The Sphere fits this farewell because of its scale and its technology. The Eagles' catalog, Hotel California in particular, was designed to be felt as much as heard. There is no larger or more capable venue for closing this chapter, and the band knew it.
